Marimbas that carry across the Quad, a choir and orchestra, drama on stage, and boys who publish novels before they finish Form 4.
The College's creative life runs through its clubs: marimbas, choir, orchestra, art, craft and drama, with the Media Club documenting all of it, its junior members trained in photography.
Its loudest expression is the Africa Day festival, first held in 2018, when traditional food, performance and a fashion show fill the D I Thomson Quad. The first festival drew Black Umfolosi, the Academy of Music Marimba Ensemble and the Thandanani Women's Ensemble to perform alongside the boys.
The written arts hold their own: in 2021 Dean Femayi, then in Form 3, published his novel Lost in the Twist, its manuscript edited with guidance from Advocate Jacob Mudenda.
