Code of conduct

Appearance

• The accepted schoolboy haircut: short back and sides, no long fringes, no unusual cuts, no tinting or dyeing.
• No tattoos.
• No jewellery with school uniform, apart from medic-alert discs.
• Outside school, uniform is worn complete or not at all. Wear it with pride.

Courtesy

• Every member of the school shows respect and courtesy to staff, prefects, parents, visitors and fellow pupils.
• Staff are greeted at all times; pupils stand to do so.
• Bad language is not tolerated in any situation.
• Every visitor to the College is acknowledged with a smile and a pleasant greeting.

Conduct out of school

• Conduct out of school, especially in uniform, must meet College standards at all times, and the same principles apply out of uniform.

Drugs policy

The College condemns the abuse of drugs in any form while supporting those who need help, without necessarily endangering their schooling. Policies covering use, possession and dealing are ratified by the Board of Governors, Headmaster and staff. This is not a process of victimisation; it is an honest attempt to identify boys in crisis early. Permanent exclusion is a last resort, though the College will use it where necessary.
